Get answers to common questions about Brazilian Wax.
Most clients enjoy smoothness for three to six weeks, depending on personal hair growth cycles and aftercare. Regular waxing can extend time between appointments as hair grows back finer and more sparse with repeated sessions.
Sensitivity varies by person and area, but many clients report brief, manageable discomfort during a Brazilian. Techniques like expert speed, skin support, breathing, and pre-wax numbing can reduce pain. Nerves typically ease after a few sessions as follicles weaken.
Trim or let hair grow to about 1/4 inch for best results. Gently exfoliate two to three days before to prevent ingrown hairs. Avoid sunburn, self-tanners, and strong retinoids. Arrive clean and avoid heavy caffeine to minimize sensitivity.
For 24–48 hours avoid hot baths, saunas, heavy exercise, and sexual activity to reduce irritation. Wear breathable, loose clothing and use fragrance-free soothing lotions or aloe. After 48 hours, gently exfoliate regularly to prevent ingrown hairs and maintain smooth results.
Many pregnant clients safely receive Brazilian waxes, though sensitivity and discomfort can increase. We recommend waiting until after the first trimester and disclosing your pregnancy to your technician. Nursing mothers should also inform staff so we can adapt technique and comfort measures.
Tell your technician about sensitivity or ingrowns beforehand. We offer gentle waxes, lower-temperature products, and careful technique to minimize trauma. Pre- and post-wax exfoliation, topical soothing serums, and professional ingrown-hair treatments help prevent and treat bumps effectively.
